In this position you will be responsible for providing Biomedical engineering, service and repairs on high end Laboratory Equipment on site at a hospital, including preventive maintenance, and calibrations.    
 
Responsibilities:

 

Perform complex repairs and calibration services on a broad range of patient care and support equipment. 
Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on range of patient care and selected support equipment in compliance with established standards. 
Manage equipment and schedule service. 
Perform pre-acceptance inspections and develop PM procedures on newly purchased equipment; maintain files on procedures and manuals. 
Ensure test equipment is working properly and calibrated within established intervals. 
Research and initiate orders for repair parts. 
Provide informal training to equipment users. 
Participate in the Quality Improvement/Risk Management program and make recommendations for improvement. 
Provide emergency on-call responsibilities as needed. 
 

Qualifications:

Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, or related experience or military training required. 
4 years servicing clinical/patient care and laboratory equipment in a hospital environment preferred. 
Ability to work independently with some supervision. 
Good communication and strong customer service skills. 
Good organization and time management skills. 
Working knowledge of computer applications pertaining to tracking service histories and producing reports on assets. 
Good trouble-shooting skills. 
Ability and willingness to serve &quot;on-call&quot; duty as required. 
Vision and hearing correctable to within normal range to communicate with customers and perform repair work.

Utilizes specialized knowledge and certification in multiple Diagnostic Imaging modalities to conduct tests, repairs, calibrations, inspections and perform preventive maintenance checks on Diagnostic Imaging and related equipment used in medical diagnosis or therapy.  Utilizes technical knowledge of electro-radiological and mechanical systems, and user knowledge of computers, and manuals, test equipment, measuring instruments, hand tools and power tools.     
 
Responsibilities:

 

Perform planned preventive maintenance, calibrations where certification may be required and electrical safety inspections on imaging and related equipment in compliance with established standards. 
Perform major repairs by replacing defective components, readjust components to manufacturer’s specifications using appropriate tools and measuring instruments.  May require certification in order to complete repairs. 
Assist with diagnostic imaging cross training of BMET Technicians. 
Confers with manufacturer’s representatives and equipment operators to resolve equipment related problems. 
Provide emergency on-call responsibilities. 
Research and initiate orders for repair parts, working within established budget parameters. 
Conducts and compiles Quality Assurance records and reports necessary for compliance with specifications and policies. 
Document all significant asset related actions in compliance with department practices. 
Must be capable of performing all the duties and responsibilities of a BMET III.
 

Qualifications:

Associates degree in Electronics/Imaging Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or military training.  
Prior experience of at least five years experience with various imaging equipment manufacturers or other appropriate related experience. 
Minimum of five years experience in the repair of radiology equipment and prior biomedical experience.  
Should possess specialized knowledge in several specialized modalities such as radiology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, cath. lab., linear accelerators, etc.  
Prefer certification (CRES) in these different modalities. 
Good communication and strong customer service skills. 
Ability and willingness to serve &quot;on-call&quot; duty as required. 
Must be willing to serve as a technical resource to others in areas of specialty or certification(s).

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position provides medical equipment repair and maintenance, performing substantial maintenance, safety testing and routine repairs.

Essential Duties:
• Performs significant preventative maintenance/safety tests/calibration for medical equipment under contract.
• Provides medical equipment repair for medical equipment under contract.
• Completes all necessary record keeping for work orders received and/or finished.

Senior Biomedical Technician performs duties in compliance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Primary duties include troubleshooting, diagnosis, testing and repair of clinical equipment, medical electronic equipment and microprocessor controlled equipment at a Senior technical level. Utilizes specialized knowledge and certification in multiple Diagnostic Imaging modalities to conduct tests, repairs, calibrations, inspections and perform preventive maintenance checks on Diagnostic Imaging and related equipment used in medical diagnosis or therapy.  Utilizes technical knowledge of electro-radiological and mechanical systems, and user knowledge of computers, and manuals, test equipment, measuring instruments, hand tools and power tools.     
 
Responsibilities:
• Perform planned preventive maintenance, calibrations where certification may be required and electrical safety inspections on imaging and related equipment in compliance with established standards. 
• Perform major repairs by replacing defective components, readjust components to manufacturer’s specifications using appropriate tools and measuring instruments.  May require certification in order to complete repairs. 
• Assist with diagnostic imaging cross training of BMET Technicians. 
• Confers with manufacturer’s representatives and equipment operators to resolve equipment related problems. 
• Provide emergency on-call responsibilities. 
• Research and initiate orders for repair parts, working within established budget parameters. 
• Conducts and compiles Quality Assurance records and reports necessary for compliance with specifications and policies. 
• Document all significant asset related actions in compliance with department practices. 
• Must be capable of performing all the duties and responsibilities of a BMET III.

Qualifications:
• Associates degree in Electronics/Imaging Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or military training.  
• Prior experience of at least five years experience with various imaging equipment manufacturers or other appropriate related experience. 
• Minimum of five years experience in the repair of radiology equipment and prior biomedical experience.  
• Should possess specialized knowledge in several specialized modalities such as radiology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, cath. lab., linear accelerators, etc.  
• Prefer certification (CRES) in these different modalities. 
• Good communication and strong customer service skills. 
• Ability and willingness to serve &quot;on-call&quot; duty as required. 
• Must be willing to serve as a technical resource to others in areas of specialty or certification(s).

In this position you will be responsible for providing Biomedical engineering, service and repairs on high end Laboratory Equipment at hospitals in your region, including preventive maintenance, and calibrations.    
 
Responsibilities: 
• Perform complex repairs and calibration services on a broad range of patient care and support equipment. 
• Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on range of patient care and selected support equipment in compliance with established standards. 
• Manage equipment and schedule service. 
• Perform pre-acceptance inspections and develop PM procedures on newly purchased equipment; maintains files on procedures and manuals. 
• Ensure test equipment is working properly and calibrated within established intervals. 
• Respond expeditiously to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns. 
• Research and initiate orders for repair parts. 
• Provide informal training to equipment users. 
• Participate in the Quality Improvement / Risk Management program and make recommendations for improvement. 
• Provide emergency on-call responsibilities as needed.  

Qualifications: 
• Associates degree in electronics / biomedical equipment technology, or related experience or military training required. 
• At least 10 years servicing clinical/patient care and laboratory equipment in a hospital environment preferred. 
• Ability to work independently with some supervision. 
• Good communication and strong customer service skills. 
• Good organization and time management skills. 
• Working knowledge of computer applications pertaining to tracking service histories and producing reports on assets. 
• Good trouble-shooting skills. 
• Ability and willingness to serve &quot;on-call&quot; duty as required.
